Our health and safety advisors and ergonomist work in the field helping employers develop workplace health and safety programs. Field staff in the Prevention Services Department are aligned according to industry classifications. By working in a particular industry, advisors and ergonomists can build on their knowledge base and share solutions and common concerns. 

The following fact sheets provide annual statistics on illnesses and injuries sustained on the job. Contact information is provided for the advisor assigned to each industry.

Agriculture

A young worker is defined as a person between 15 and 24. Many of these young people are searching for temorary employment or entering the workforce for the first time. They are at risk being injured due to lack of occupational health and safety knowledge and work experience. As a result, injuries often occur during the first few weeks on the job.
