Welcome to the Employer Services section of our web site. The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission operates a no-fault work-injury insurance program for workers and employers in Newfoundland and Labrador. Employers cannot be sued by their workers for injuries that occur at or during the course of their employment. This is part of an historic agreement between employers who fund the workers' compensation system and workers who depend on the benefits and services provided by the system.

The Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act (the Act) requires all employers performing work in Newfoundland and Labrador to register with the Commission and pay assessments based on their workers’ earnings (including directors) and report all contractors.

Employers can help control costs by providing safe and responsible work environments where accidents are prevented and workers return to work as soon as possible after an injury.
