St. John’s, NL – Elwood High of Deer Lake and Menihek High School of Labrador City will square off in game one of the SAFE Work NL’s Who Wants to Save a Life? semi-final round at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at the Corner Brook Arts and Culture Centre.
SAFE Work NL’s Who Wants to Save a Life?, the trivia game designed to educate high school students about workplace health and safety, was developed by the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission (the Commission), in partnership with the Department of Education and Futures in Newfoundland and Labrador’s Youth (FINALY!).
SAFE Work NL’s Who Wants to Save a Life? second semi-final will be played at the Gander Arts and Culture Centre on February 25, 2009. The participating teams will be Lewisporte Collegiate and Carbonear Collegiate.
Winners of the two semi-finals will compete for $15,000 in scholarships and cash prizes for their schools, at the final showdown on May 8, 2009, at Holy Heart of Mary Auditorium in St. John’s.
